Library

This is part of our quiet room. Here the children practice the telling of stories, songs and poems. They learn many social/emotional skills from stories and pictures. They learn to compare, empathize and predict. All of these are precursors to reading. Cognitively, they are deciphering written language, and learning how books work. All aspects of literacy are practiced, reading, writing, listening and speaking.
